About Me – Brian Zuckerman
My college search experience began with my oldest son in 2016. More focused than most teenagers, he was looking for a prominent engineering program (his intended major) at a large public university (offering alternatives should his career intentions change and the full “rah-rah” experience) outside of the Northeast (to expand his horizons). We spent countless hours scouring university websites, college search websites and student/parent forums. Determined to break away from the “usual suspects” for kids from the Northeast, we narrowed the list to Iowa State, Virginia Tech and Purdue. Iowa State was a particularly good pick as they base admissions solely on stats, so he knew he had an opportunity to attend a program that he truly liked in August before his senior year began. The ultimate likely school! He decided to attend, and thrived, at Purdue. Notably, the first student to attend from his high school. My younger son completed his search process in 2019 and attends Clemson University as a merit scholarship recipient in their College of Business.
Soon I was helping family and friends with their college searches and decided to launch College Fit Help. Over the last four years, I've helped over sixty families with their college search and selection process. The experience has been very rewarding for me and I've built a database of information on close to 150 institutions.
As Chief of Staff of Salus University, a health sciences graduate institution, my role included representing the President’s Office on the university’s enrollment committee. Our work included efforts in expanding merit-based scholarships and defining their award qualifications, navigating the enrollment challenges of the pandemic and managing admissions criteria in the context of a shrinking applicant pool for our largest program.
Throughout my career, I have drawn on my Literature & Rhetoric and Law degrees to assist me as a reviewer and editor of countless writings. My responsibilities at Salus and in my prior role as SVP – General Counsel & Secretary of Pep Boys, included oversight of the Communications department.
I am energized by working with young people. As an Instructor at Penn Law, it was my pleasure to work with bright, eager students as they began their career journey. As a varsity hockey coach, I took very seriously my responsibility to develop my players on, and more importantly, off the ice. As an alumnus of Binghamton University, I represented my alma mater through countless college fairs, accepted student interviews and email campaigns and on the Alumni Board of Trustees.
I welcome the opportunity to work with you and your family as you explore your college opportunities and find your COLLEGE FIT.

With only months left in my senior year at college, I learned that my intended Physician Assistant studies graduate program had lost its accreditation. Mr. Zuckerman arranged for me to interview with Salus’ Program Director, counseled me on how to make my “gap year” productive and helped me navigate the application process. After I enrolled at Salus, he continued to check up on me and was there to congratulate me at my graduation! -Nikki Harnwell
